Batman hunts for Easter eggs

From the files of mixed-up holidays...

In my haste to arrive at the Easter Egg Hunt before 9 a.m. yesterday I neglected to inspect what the boys were wearing (but I did brush their teeth). So we got there and I heard somebody make a comment about how cute Batman was, and I'm thinking, "What kind of rotten mother lets her kid dress like Batman for an Easter egg hunt?" and then I turned around. Oh. Not only did I have Batman, but I also had his friend Superman.

At least they left their swords at home.

Gardening with Grandma

(Mom would disinherit me if I called this post "Gardening with Gaga").

Anyway, I know it has been a while (yes, a looooong while) since I posted, and we will just blame this lapse on (pick one: Monica, the dog, having four kids, no sleep, too much to do, too little time). Hopefully, assuming Monica continues to wake up less than four times a night, and assuming Genie and I can keep our midnight raccoon romps to a minimum, I should be back up and blogging fairly regularly. You can exhale that bated breath now.

So here are pictures from Gaga's Grandma's garden plot at the Old Folks Party Place Senior Center at Bond Park. We went over there last Saturday because we had nothing more exciting to do to be of service and to inculcate in the children a sense of respect for the natural world. Were we really of service? Well of course. Vincent swung a three-pronged something-or-another tool in all directions and did not decapitate a single person, Monica only ate a couple handfuls of dirt (all while wearing her gold gardening shoes), Dominic somehow soaked his pants while washing his hands (there was help involved from his brother, rumor has it), and Gaga Grandma planted three whole plants. I don't know what she would have done without us.

Irish tap dancing ballerina

Monica is pretty convinced she belongs on stage as a tap-dancing ballerina, so this year she is taking tap... and ballet... and Irish dan...
