The Goops, by William Wordsworth

As many of you know, I am sort of a purist when it comes to poetry; therefore I only teach the kids the most classic of poems. This is one of them -- a lesser known Wordsworth poem titled, "The Goops." No, really. Enjoy. The words are below so you can get the full effect.

The Goops

The Goops they lick their fingers
And the Goops they lick their knives:
They spill their broth on the tablecloth
Oh, they lead disgusting lives!

The Goops they talk while eating,
And loud and fast they chew;
And that is why I'm glad that I
Am not a Goop, are you?
